What a year! As our Class of 2018 anticipates its commencement in May, we marvel at the changes they’ve seen since first arriving on campus. These changes are made possible thanks to the generosity of you and other donors.
Many of our campus developments are hard to miss! Due to the generosity of our long-standing friends the Basches, we opened the Richard and Barbara Basch Visual Arts Center, officially cutting the ribbon in December. The outgoing class has now studied for over a year in the gorgeous Alfred R. Goldstein Library, made a reality with support from donors like Alfred Goldstein, and many others. Students have watched the new student resident hall going up (opening in fall of 2018) across from the recently opened Ringling College Studio Labs. And to the south of campus, we’ve seen the demolition and renovations occurring at the Sarasota Museum of Art. Change is physically everywhere at Ringling College!
But not all changes are as visible to the eye, such as the tremendous growth of our students. They are the reason we are here. And you, our alumni, donors, and friends, make their experience what it is—robust, hands-on, and at the forefront of technology— through your generosity. For many students, you make their education possible.
This fall we welcomed the first donors into the Masterpiece Society. These donors create life-changing Masterpiece scholarships and meet their scholarship recipients to learn firsthand about our students and how their support changes lives. Our Advancement staff is grateful to work with our donors to create these kinds of lasting legacies.
Speaking of legacy, what an honor it was to help facilitate the transformational gift of the Morganroths. Their incredibly generous commitment to Ringling College not only set new records but hopefully inspires others to join them in supporting our momentum. It is a special time as we move into President Thompson’s 20th year at Ringling College and we collectively see his vision, and that of the trustees, come to fruition.
As a donor to the College, you transform lives. You change the world – one creative student at a time – through your philanthropy. Now as we look toward commencement, we celebrate and see firsthand the great successes that come from this support. Thank you for placing your trust in our students and Ringling College.
